About
This is a proship/profic & anti-censorship zine and is for 18+ only contributors and supporters.Anti-harassment policy: This zine has zero tolerance of harassment and/or bullying of others over ships, dynamics, or problematic themes that someone wishes to indulge in. Any applicants or accepted contributors/mods found to be participating in behavior as such will be forced to forfeit participation.
About the name of the zine:
efflorescence (noun)
1: the action or process of developing and unfolding as if coming into flower : BLOSSOMING
2: fullness of manifestation : CULMINATIONAfter months of deliberation on a name (and now knowing too much about plant terminology) that felt like it fully encompassed what we wanted the zine to be about and relate back to Plantwood, Efflorescence was chosen to represent the zine.
About the theme of the zine:
The Language of FlowersFloriography originated as a means to communicate with the use of flowers or arrangements. Flowers have been given meaning for thousands of years with most notable traditional practices in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Over the past few centuries, flowers have retained and also have had their meanings changed depending on context, culture, and intent.Using the language of flowers as a theme for this zine is meant for everyone to find their own meaning in Plantwood and delve into their relationship, portraying them as they see them.
What this zine will include:
This zine intends to include all versions of Plantwood from every iteration of Trigun ('98 anime, Trigun Maximum, and Trigun Stampede) with crossovers from different iterations as well. AU's, canon-divergence, and canon compliant works are all allowed and encouraged. Through art, writing, and cosplay we intend to have as many representations of Plantwood as possible.

F.A.Q.
What is a zine?
A zine is an amalgamation of different media types; writing, art, photography, etc. that are centered around an idea or theme, typically put into a printed or digital form.
What kind of zine is this?
This is an 18+ only, proship/profic zine, & anti-censorship zine. Any and all iterations of Knives, Vash, and Wolfwood from Trigun (‘98 anime, Trigun Manga, Trigun Maximum Manga, and Trigun Stampede) are allowed as well as AU's. The main focus of the zine will be Plantwood, fully encompassing how their relationship flourishes in every way.
Will this zine for-profit or for charity?
This zine will be for-profit.We intend to compensate every contributor & mod with a full bundle version (or equal monetary compensation if preferred) of the zine as well as any profit that exceeds the bundle compensation will be split equally amongst contributors & mods for anyone who chooses to opt-in for it.
Will this zine be NSFW or have a NSFW version?
This zine will include SFW and NSFW in the print and digital version. However, all merch and cosplay will remain SFW.A full list of content will be shared upon zine completion.
How many contributors will be accepted?
We are looking to have 12 writers, 22 page artists, 6 merch artists, and 4 cosplayers, but we are willing to add more spots depending on page allowance.
How is the theme incorporated into the zine?
The theme of The Language of Flowers is truly open ended and is meant to allow contributors to explore how they interpret and showcase the relationship between Knives, Vash, and Wolfwood. Flowers have many interpretations, as does Plantwood. What the relationship between them means is for each person to convey in their work.Floral imagery is not required for zine contributions, but is encouraged as Trigun uses flowers as a symbolic focal point in every iteration. Many different flowers can represent any part of Plantwood or their relationship(s), meaning the flowers chosen to represent each part of Plantwood for this zine are not required to be flowers used by contributors either. We wholeheartedly encourage contributors to use flowers they find best represent the characters if they choose to incorporate flowers in their work.
